OUR LITTLE STORY
When you think of your cultural heritage, what comes to mind? Do you think of people, places, meals, and holidays? Do you think of language, stories, traditions and artifacts? Songs and dances? Do you feel connected to these roots or cut off from them?
At My Roots our mission is to help you keep your culture and pass it on to your children. Through our online language courses, multiple cultural programs, and events, we assist you and your children in staying connected to your heritage, and also…prepared for the future!
We started out of a personal need to connect our own kids with their heritage. Our friends and family joined and then we grew to now provide language and coding classes to kids across Canada and the world.
Meet Our Teachers
Ramy is a dedicated coding instructor with a passion for inspiring young minds. With a background in computer science and extensive experience in software development, Ramy’s dynamic teaching style fosters creativity, problem-solving skills.
Ms. Eman is the Head of the Arabic Department at Capital International Schools in Egypt. She has over 15 years of teaching experience and is expert at commanding student attention and motivating young people.
Shaimaa has a Bachelor of Education with a specialization in Early Learning. She has 6 years experience teaching Arabic in various international schools. She is known for her patience and fun and interactive learning methods that keep children engaged during her Arabic language classes.
Rowayda is a professional teacher with experience in various international schools in Egypt. She is certified as a Positive Discipline Parent Educator from the Positive Discipline Association, an independent nonprofit organization in Atlanta, Georgia. Her strength is making our young ones enjoy the class in a fun loving environment.
With over six years of experience teaching Arabic in international schools across Beirut, Lebanon, Marwa has developed a reputation for providing personalized and interactive learning experiences to each of her students. As an Arabic teacher, she places a strong emphasis on tailoring her classes to meet the unique needs of each individual, fostering a high level of engagement and participation among her students.
Ms. Toqa is an Egyptian professional Arabic teacher and has been teaching non native speakers for over 3 years. The way she teaches young ones with fun and patience make them interact with her more and learn their lessons with love and care.
Ms. Chantal is a professional Arabic teacher at Lecée Abdallah Al Rassi School in Lebanon. With her communication and presentation skills, she give young students online classes full of fun, interaction, and learning.
Esraa is a professional elementary school teacher at Green Heights International School in Cairo, Egypt. She has over 8 years teaching experience and in addition to her Bachelor’s of Education degree, she holds a Diploma in Educational Phycology. Ms. Esraa’s online Arabic classes are fun and engaging and our students love her.
Omnia is one of our most experienced teachers. She has over 22 years of experience and is a supervisor in Arabic department at Nefertari Language School in Cairo. Ms. Omnia has become a favorite among a number of children at My Roots and we are very excited to have her on board.
Ekhlas is a professional Arabic teacher who has been teaching Arabic online and in-person to non-native speakers for over 5 years. She is pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Arabic Language and Linguistics. Our students love Ms. Ekhlas and look forward to their weekly online Arabic classes with her.
Ms. Doha is a professional Arabic teacher with over 10 years experience. Her experience also includes supervising and training new teachers. She is certified in Arabic phonology and is skilled in developing students’ phonemic awareness.
Esraa is a professional Arabic teacher with 9 years of experience. She is the head of the Arabic department at the Tiba Maadi Language School in Cairo. With her fun and interactive teaching techniques, she is great with kids and My Roots students absolutely adore her.
Ms. Safaa has over 11 years experience as an Arabic teacher at various international schools in Cairo, Egypt. She specializes in teaching advanced level students and is known to make Arabic grammar fun. She holds a Bachelor of Education degree with an Arabic Language specialization from Cairo University.
Youmna has 9 years experience in teaching and tutoring. She has certificates in Parenting Children with ADHD and Behavioral Disorders in Children. Youmna is caring, loving, and patient. The kids love her from the moment they see her and consider her a friend.
Meet Doaa, an experienced Arabic teacher currently at Oasis International School in Cairo. She has over 13 years of teaching experience, including 7 years of teaching Arabic to children in international schools and 3 years of IB teaching experience. Doaa is highly skilled in creating a welcoming and nurturing learning environment that fosters children’s love of learning Arabic.
Ms. Asmaa is a professional Arabic teacher at Narmar American College (NAC) in Cairo, Egypt. She has been with us from the start at My Roots and we love her as much as the kids do. She has over 8 years experience and is patient and fun with the kids.
Maha makes it all happen. She handles everything from scheduling of classes to organizing our events.
